On Thursday, August 4, country music's most powerful duo appeared at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ. Currently on their Dig Your Roots Tour, Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line brought nothing but the best to concert-goers this summer. With one of the strongest lineups of the year, the duo has their good buddies Cole Swindell, The Cadillac Three, and Kane Brown out on the road with them. It was no surprise that the show sold out in just minutes when it went on sale months ago. Fans gathered at the venue hours before the show to get the party started, and once the microphones were on and FGL’s boots hit the stage, it was set to be an epic show.
The Storyteller Tour 2016 ~ Philadelphia, PA
When you get to spend a Monday night with Carrie Underwood, or whom I call, the country music queen, you drop everything immediately. Carrie Underwood's Storyteller Tour hit the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia February 22. The tour featured two special guest openers, The Swon Brothers and Easton Corbin. Underwood won over America's hearts and ears back in 2005 when she was crowned the winner of Fox's hit television show, season 4 of American Idol. Ever since, Carrie has blown me away and I was very excited to be in her presence as she was ready to perform some new and old tunes for her fans. I can honestly say her most recently released album, 'Storyteller,' is so far my favorite. Each song represents a different piece of life in which everyone can find a verse they can relate to.
When I think of country music, I immediately think of the kind and loving hearts behind the genre. Well, this golden family sticks together. In celebration for My Country 96.1 FM's 5th Annual Birthday show, the station brought quite the lineup for their listeners. Country star Craig Morgan stepped in to save the day February 3rd in Patchogue, New York at The Emporium where Tyler Farr was supposed to headline with openers Love and Theft that night. As we all know, fellow country singer Tyler Farr had to cancel several upcoming tour dates including this one due to having micro laryngeal surgery to remove a vocal polyp on his vocal chords. Farr became aware of the problem last summer while on tour with Jason Aldean as he suffered through severe bronchitis. Farr is now on complete vocal rest until further notice. Team Home Sweet Country sends love and support to Farr and we sure hope he feels better soon.
New Jersey Tour Stop First Full Band Show of 2016!
Kelsea Ballerini has proved to not only the country music world, however, fans of music in general, that anything is possible. What a year this country gem has had. I remember the first time I saw Ms. Ballerini. I knew she would bring something special to every stage she would ever step foot on in her future. As she thanked the crowd for their support over the past several months, she shared that this tour stop was her first full band show of 2016. A sold out crowd entered Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey January 21st and lets just say, I'm pretty sure everyone went home saying they were calling "dibs" on Kelsea Ballerini.
Home Sweet Country went to CHURCH on May 2. Well, not really, but we did head to the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey to see the Chief himself, Mr. Eric Church. If you’ve never seen Church live in concert, you’re missing out. I, for one, was filled with joy and excitement as I entered the venue along with 18,000 other country music fans. Church’s 'The Outsiders: World Tour’ has been the talk of the country music genre. With so much buzz on social media, it was hard not to be excited about this big event.
Church recently earned praise as he performed at the 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards in Texas with Keith Urban. The dual performance gave country fans quite a thrill as they sang “Pledge Allegiance to the Hag,” which led them into their current single together, “Raise ‘Em Up.” The power of these lyrics encourages all fans to raise ‘em up to whomever they would like to honor. Church’s ‘The Outsiders’ album, which was released last year, earned him the CMA Award for album of the year. Coming from Church, it is no surprise how truly amazing his current album really is. To hear any of Church's music performed live, will always give his fans a real thrill.
Dan + Shay & Canaan Smith-- Where It All Began Tour-- Concert Review (Sayreville, NJ) April 11, 2015
When I hear the names Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney of the rising country duo Dan + Shay, I immediately think of good music and ultimately- a good time. The critically acclaimed breakout duo launched this leg of their “Where It All Began Tour” back in February, and on April 11, they made their stop in Sayreville, New Jersey at the Starland Ballroom. Opening up all of their shows this time around is superstar in the making, Canaan Smith.
Fans were in line for hours barely containing their excitement as they waited for the venue doors to open. There has been nothing but positive buzz being spread across the Internet in regards to this tour. Dan and Shay looked like they were having the time of their lives up on stage and their fans greatly appreciate their love of music. The duo’s tour-mate was sure to tell us how much he loved coming back here. “The energy in New Jersey is unforgettable and it was nice to be back at this venue again, especially since Hurricane Sandy,” Smith said.
Who doesn't love a country music party on a Saturday night in New Jersey? It's even better when we have the chance to get "Redneck Crazy" with Tyler Farr. The concert presented by Thunder 106 brought Farr to the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville along with opener and New Jersey native Scott DeCarlo. Farr announced last month via Twitter, "New Music! You can hear my 2nd album, Suffer In Peace, on 4/28. Pre-order on @amazonmusic #SIP." With the release of his sophomore album coming up next month, he was ready to give us all he's got. Considering the lead single, "A Guy Walks Into A Bar" already has close to 3 million views on YouTube, we can only imagine how great this new record will be. Just by taking a quick glance at the crowd before Farr hit the stage, I knew how much his fans appreciated his music and his unique style in this industry. Fans were lined up for hours outside the venue to see Farr perform at his Jersey gig, just check out this Twitter post.
It may have been a cold night in New Jersey, but CMT on Tour 2014 presents Kip Moore's 'Up in Smoke' show was on fire.
Last night, Kip Moore, Charlie Worsham, and Sam Hunt put on the ultimate 'House Party' at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville.
Wishing we could all 'Leave the Night On' with this trio, Sam Hunt opened up the show and had the entire crowd singing along to every single song on his set list from his debut album 'MONTEVALLO'.
As if that didn't rally up the crowd enough, 'Could It Be' Charlie Worsham that I spied taking #selfies with the audience before jamming on stage?!?...and I don't use the word jamming lightly, because this guy can really jam y'all.
Summer is the best time of year for a concert, so when I found out Joel Crouse would be coming to Point Pleasant, New Jersey, I was very excited to head to the show. The concert took place July 23 at Jenkinson's Pavilion for Thunder 106's Wild West Wednesday! The last time I had seen Crouse was last summer when had opened for Taylor Swift at MetLife Stadium. This time around, I was really looking forward to more of a personal show. New Jersey fans were quite excited to see Crouse hit that stage and to spend their night listening to great country music. Crouse had announced to the audience that he is currently opening up some shows on Darius Rucker's True Believers Tour.
