Cody Hibbard – I’ve Been There Too Lyrics

Verse
Kinda weird seein’ you here
Without her on your own
Now just you with a whiskey
I know what’s goin’ on
Yeah ain’t gotta say a thing
I could see it on your face
The one that’s on your heart
Is the one that got away
Yeah man, I’ve been there too

Chorus
I’ve been that guy at the bar
I’ve been that broken heart
Bartender keep on comin’
Until the memories don’t mean nothin’
I know how goodbye works
I know how things get worse
Before it gets any better
It gonna feel like hell forever
Ain’t nothing new, what you’re goin’ through
That’s just what girls I could do
Yeah man, I’ve been there too

Verse
You can burn smoke after smoke
Till you run through that back
You can keep scrollin’ through those pictures
But it won’t bring her back
He ain’t the first, you won’t be the last
Frightened now for livin’ in the past

Chorus
I’ve been that guy at the bar
I’ve been that broken heart
Bartender keep on comin’
Until the memories don’t mean nothin’
I know how goodbye works
I know how things get worse
Before it gets any better
It gonna feel like hell forever
Ain’t nothing new, what you’re goin’ through
That’s just what girls I could do
Yeah man, I’ve been there too

Outro
I’ve been that guy at the bar
I’ve been that broken heart
Bartender keep on comin’
Until the memories don’t mean nothin’
I know how goodbye works
I know how things get worse
Before they get any better
Gonna feel like hell forever
Ain’t nothing new, what you’re goin’ through
That’s just what girls I could do
Yeah man, I’ve been there too

Song Meaning & Review

I’m everyone who has been in a relationship can relate to this newly released song by Cody Hibbard called “I’ve Been There Too.” In the first part of the song, he talked about seeing a friend who used to bring his girl with him all the time but now isn’t with him.

He knew about what he felt. In the chorus of the song, he talked about how he’s been there too. It talks about the pain we have to experience when losing someone. In short, this song is the perfect description of what a breakup feels like.

We can’t force the people we love to stay in our lives, and when everything ends, we have to accept the fact that it’s the end. All we can do is stare into their pictures and move on with our lives. I’ve been there too.
