David Adam Byrnes – I Find a Reason Lyrics

[Verse 1]
They made your favorite margarita
Had trace of
So every Tuesday night
That’s where we go.
Same waiter same order
Same booth in the corner
I should stay the hell away from there
Cuz I know
That as soon as I walk in
I’ll erase
Every little progress that I’ve made.

[Chorus]
Well I guess you can say I’m hard headed.
The fact that I’m headin’ where I’m headed.
Cuz everytime I finally find myself
Getting over you
I find a reason not to.

[Verse 2]
I should slam on my breaks
And turn around.
I’ve come too **** far
To give in again now.
But even if I did head home
I got no much to do.
I’d find a reason not to.

[Chorus]
Well I guess you can say I’m hard headed.
The fact that I’m headin’ where I’m headed.
Cuz everytime I finally find myself
Getting over you
I find a reason not to.

[Instrumental]

[Chorus]
Well I guess you can say I’m hard headed.
The fact that I’m headin’ where I’m headed.
Cuz everytime I finally find myself
Getting over you
I find a reason not to.
I find a reason not to.

Song Meaning & Review

I think the singer is headed to their usual spot in the bar. The spot in the corner where he and his ex would always go to when they were still together. Where they would order the same things whenever they go there. But now, he’d been trying to move on and get over his ex.

He’s made some progress in moving on. But now, he’s having thoughts of heading back to the corner where they always used to go. Whenever he finds himself moving on and getting over his ex, he finds a reason not to.
