Kolton Moore & The Clever Few – Wherever I Am Lyrics

Verse 1
I’m seventy-five south
Of Atlanta.
Traffic backed up
As far as the eye can see.

I ain’t never been here before
And I don’t plan on comin’ back.
Ain’t nothin’ lost here
Bein’ found by me.

In a state ten to San Antonio.
You can hop on that highway,
You can drive it coast to coast.

It’s funny how they say,
“The road changes a man.”
Cuz lately I’ve been feelin’
More like a ghost.
But I always know…

Chorus
Wherever I am,
You’re with me.
Even if You give Your heart.
mistakes were made,
Or in the bed you’re right beside me.
It don’t matter how far apart.

Wherever, wherever,
Wherever I am.
Wherever, wherever
Wherever I am,
Ooh You’re with me.

Verse 2
Some county road there
In Kentucky.
Those roads in hills are bad as,
Really as it gets.
Yeah, wish you were here
To see this with me.
I’d send you a picture,
I’d send you a kiss.

Some windy road in Colorado
Yeah I wish I wouldn’t have been
There would I’ve known.
That all this runnin’ around
Sure catches up to me.
And by catchin’ up
Honey, you is what I mean.

Chorus
Wherever I am,
You’re with me.
Even if You give Your heart.
mistakes were made,
Or in the bed you’re right beside me.
It don’t matter how far apart.

Wherever, wherever,
Wherever I am.
Wherever, wherever
Wherever I am,
Ooh You’re with me.

Solo

Outro
Wherever, wherever
Wherever I am.
Wherever, wherever
Wherever I am.
Wherever, wherever
Wherever I am
Oooh you’re with me
Ooooh you’re with me, yeah
You’re with me.

Song Meaning & Review

From what I understand, I think this song is about a lost loved one of the artist of this song. Someone that meant the world to the artist and is still holding dearly in his heart no matter where he goes.

It is least likely someone that the artist had broken up with, but most likely a loved one that already went into the afterlife and now, memories of that loved one catches up to him wherever he goes.

And that no matter what happens, he still holds that person dear in his heart, remembering all those lovely memories together.

And at one point, wishing that that loved one is with him on those trips, or wished that he could at least send that person a photo of where he is and he’d send that person a kiss, which is really sweet and romantic.

This is actually a very beautiful song dedicated to someone he had lost and is trying to keep himself busy, driving along the road. But at some point ends up still remembering that person, and I for one think that it’s beautiful.
