Rob Mayes – There Ain’t One For This Lyrics

Verse 1
There’s them dreams that you dream
Cuz the game’s on.
There’s those ones that you pour
When the day’s long.
Ones you toast and you raise
To the good ol’ days.
Ones you shoot,
Ones you sip.

There’s them Friday night songs
You raise hell to.
Sunday ones that you sing
From the back pew.
Ones you cruise around
With the windows down.
But there ain’t one for this.

Chorus
It’s kinda lonely.
This kinda heartbreak.
It’s like I can’t sleep
Feelin’ like the only one
In this town.
Left in the rearview,
Just hangin’ around,
Thinkin’ about you.

Just kinda broken,
It’s kinda sad and,
It’s kinda train on the tracks’
Comin’ faster.
Tell me there’s a light
At the end of the tunnel
Where you’re stuck in the middle of it.
I’m startin’ to think
There ain’t one for this.

Verse 2
There’s them girls
I could ask for a first date.
Ones I knew that
Could light up an old flame.
One for one night
To help me forget
The one I really miss.
But there ain’t one for this.

Chorus
It’s kinda lonely.
This kinda heartbreak.
It’s like I can’t sleep
Feelin’ like the only one
In this town.
Left in the rearview,
Just hangin’ around,
Thinkin’ about you.

Just kinda broken,
It’s kinda sad and,
It’s kinda train on the tracks’
Comin’ faster.
Tell me there’s a light
At the end of the tunnel
Where you’re stuck in the middle of it.
I’m startin’ to think
There ain’t one for this.

Solo

Bridge
There’s a day you’d even give it
One more try,
And it ain’t over yet.
There’s those late night calls
When you work it all out.
Then one start of a kiss.
Right, but there ain’t one for this.

Chorus
It’s kinda lonely.
This kinda heartbreak.
It’s like I can’t sleep
Feelin’ like the only one
In this town.
Left the rearview,
Try’na move on,
I don’t know how to.

Just kinda broken,
It’s kinda sad and,
It’s kinda train on the tracks’
Comin’ faster.
Tell me there’s a light
At the end of the tunnel
Where you’re stuck in the middle of it.
I’m startin’ to think
There ain’t one for this.
There ain’t one for this.,

Song Meaning & Review

This song really said that there’s one and only one for the artist. The thing about country songs about heartbreak is that I can feel the emotions a lot more compared to other genres.

It was painful and sad, and I really felt the longing for someone the artist misses. I felt the sadness, the loneliness of the nights where the one he misses isn’t around.

The pain of being left out in the air, missing the one you know you really want to spend the rest of your life with.

The fact that he tried asking other girls out on a first date, tried going back to a few old flames he’d had before, or even girls for a night just to help forget who he really wants and misses.

All those efforts to try and move on over the woman he’d loved so much, but to no avail. She’d always have a big place in his heart no matter how much he tries to move on.

It’s sad and beautiful at the same time, how his heart still keeps waiting for that one woman his heart really belongs to, and how they even tried to reconcile at some point.
