Sabrina Sterling – Ride Or Die Lyrics

Verse 1
You don’t know how badly I want this
Sorry if I seem a little bit….pessimistic

Pre-Chorus
Jeans from last year
Sweater made from polyester
I won’t be here
For much longer
Why don’t we sneak out?

Chorus
Let’s stay up every night
No regrets, it’s alright
Listen to our favorite songs until we hate them
And we’ll tell ****** up jokes
And lay down at the road
Make a list of all the things we wanna try
You wanna be my ride or die

Verse 2
Crash the car and hold my hand
Scream the names out loud because
We can

Pre-Chorus
Out until we see the sunrise
Making memories

Chorus
Let’s stay up every night
No regrets, it’s alright
Listen to our favorite songs until we hate them
And we’ll tell ****** up jokes
And lay down at the road
Make a list of all the things we wanna try
You wanna be my ride or die

Instrumental

Chorus
Let’s stay up every night
No regrets, it’s alright
Listen to our favorite songs until we hate them
And we’ll tell ****** up jokes
And lay down at the road
Make a list of all the things we wanna try
You wanna be my ride or die

Song Meaning & Review

The melody of this song is so melancholic and the banjo solo fits so well. It’s nice to hear songs about puppy love that is actually being sung by kids. It just feels weird when 30 somethings sings a song with this kind of theme.

I like the “I won’t be here for much longer”, the ambiguity of that line when included into the song just makes it pop out. It could mean that she is having domestic problems and she is about to run away. That’s why she is a bit sad because she’s going to leave her friends/lover soon. Or maybe it’s also because she is going to university soon, or maybe, as simple as her family moving to another state.

It’s simple.. but really, is it always that simple? There’s genius in here and it really reflects the complicated lives that teenagers usually have. That’s why the “I won’t be here for much longer” really spoke to me, as I can feel that with the many thousands of different lives listening to this song can all relate to what Sabrina Sterling is trying to convey in her song, “Ride or Die”
