David J – Pour Decisions Lyrics

Verse 1
Here I go
I’m stuck between
This bottle of whiskey
And your name on my phone.

Cuz in my head,
Our memories are burnin’
The more I’m sippin’ on this bourbon.
But you’re prob’ly
On your way right now
Cuz we both know
I won’t shut you down.

Chorus
It’s gonna hurt in the mornin’.
So let’s drink on past that warnin’.
I want your sweet kiss,
And your smooth skin
Pressed up against my lips.

It makes a Friday night
With a lonely bus
Forget about the hangover of us.
I grab your glass and worry about
What is the reason.
Tonight let’s make pour decisions.

Verse 2
We’re right back
At it again.
Tangle the sheets
With your body movin’ closer.
I know it’s sad that it’s over.
So why is your pretty head
Layin’ on my shoulder?

Chorus
It’s gonna hurt in the mornin’.
So let’s drink on past that warnin’.
I want your sweet kiss,
And your smooth skin
Pressed up against my lips.

It makes a Friday night
With a lonely bus
Forget about the hangover of us.
I grab your glass and worry about
What is the reason.
Tonight let’s make pour decisions.

Instrumental

Here we go,
We’re stuck again.

Chorus
It’s gonna hurt in the mornin’.
So let’s drink on past that warnin’.
I want your sweet kiss,
And your smooth skin
Pressed up against my lips.

What makes a Friday night
With a lonely bus
Forget about the hangover of us.
I grab your glass and worry about
What is the reason.
Tonight let’s make pour decisions.
Oh no oohh
Tonight let’s make pour decisions.

Song Meaning & Review

From my standpoint, this song is about how the artist is alone one night, drinking to forget about the pain of breaking up with someone who meant a lot to him.

Then at some point, he just knew that that person is on her way to his place because they both knew that he wouldn’t and couldn’t turn her down.

Further into the night, they’d drink together and he’d grab her glass and worry or maybe even ask about the reason on why they ended things or why she came back.

They both know that if they do decide to push through with their decision to end things after that night, it would hurt in the morning, laying next to someone that meant a lot to you and that you know it’s that last night and morning you’ll ever spend with them next to you under the sheets.

But, they still drink through it anyway. Thus, the creative use of the word “Pour” instead of “Poor” decisions.
